The Hellenic Society of Constantinopolitans of the Greater Washington Area (HSCONDC) is keeping the culture and traditions of the Greeks from the city of Constantinople alive in Washington DC.
The Society was founded in 1986 by Avyeri & Elli Andonyadis, Rea Assimakopoulos, Tasos & Epi Sporidis, Julia & Stratos Inglesis, Stavros Papadopulos, and Eleni Panayiotidis. Currently, there are almost one hundred active members in the group, which includes residents of Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia who are interested in supporting its mission.
Their mission is to further the cultural appreciation of the City and also to foster friendships within the community at large, providing moral support, and distributing mutual aid wherever there is a need.
